Along with Franz Josef, Fox Glacier lies within the breathtaking World Heritage Listed Area on the South Island's West Coast. The glaciers are certainly some of the most attractive tourist destinations in the south of Aotearoa and a must-see for all visitors to the West Coast.

Under the watchful gaze of both Mount Cook and Mount Tasman, the two tallest mountains in Oceania, Fox Glacier snakes for almost 14 kilometres down the mountains. A pristine natural wilderness surrounds both the glacier and the township and provides a host of different scenic views as well as trails and bushwalks.

For the adventurous, a range of guided tours offer glacier walking, heli-hiking, ice climbing and mountaineering courses. Or just sit and relax in one of the many cafes or by taking a stroll around beautiful Lake Matheson, the famous mirror lake of the West Coast.

We hope you enjoy your time in Fox Glacier and look forward to seeing you soon!
